Born and raised in Chicago; Derek has always had a passion for the drums. His musical accolades span Broadway shows such as “Teatro ZinZanni”, International tours, mega-churches, multiple tv/podcast appearances, national publication articles and local performances.
Derek is an endorsed artist known for his creative restorations and unique drum builds.
Springboarding off a leadership role with the Guitars Over Guns mentorship program; Derek has established the Chicago Drum Building Program to give inner-city youth an opportunity to grow and develop life-long skills.
